No Visa – China Vs NZ Is A Dud
The biggest disappointment for any sporting enthusiast is to find bureaucracy affecting the game. The New Zealand Winter Games has just begun and the home team was pitted against China for its first match. Now, China is not a really strong team in the world of ice hockey but one can expect a decent performance considering the fact that they work so hard.
However, my expectations of a good competitive match were rendered useless when I discovered that half the team from China could not land due to visa problems. The world has become so close today that it is possible to check out the prices of diesel Reading without residing in the country.
I can use the internet from New Zealand or Canada and find this information in a jiffy. Yet, we cannot ensure that visas and other formalities for athletes are completed on time. Of course, there will be a standard blame game where one organization criticizes the other and one party places the blame on the other. However, the fans have to lose out at the end of day because they have to manage with an ordinary match.
Of course, one cannot say that the Chinese performance was ordinary. They actually went up and scored two goals against the sole goal stored by the New Zealand team. This was the score line when the first half ended. However, the New Zealand team came back strongly and pumped in few more goals to finish the match with 8-3 score line. One can only hope that the Australian team has got all its visas on time because they will be playing New Zealand next.
